Recently I cleaned and reorganized my studio. This means I found a few UFO's (unfinished objects).
I started wondering about the why's of why we don't finish a quilt project. Maybe . . . the colors were all wrong, the blocks didn't line up, the star points weren't sharp, the scraps weren't scrappy enough, not enough contrast. There are many reasons for loosing interest part way through.
For what ever reason, it no longer fits the vision we had for the quilt when we started.
So . . . what if we changed our vision for the quilt?
Here's what I mean. I started this quilt a few years ago. My intention was a quilt for my bed. I love kaleidoscope quilts so that wasn't the problem. I am not sure why it got folded up unfinished and put on a shelf.
Well, today when I took it off the shelf I thought to myself, 'this is perfect for the screen porch'!
So out of the closet it came, and on went the binding (who cares that it's an odd size) it's for the porch.

It would be great for a picnic too!

No matter what the reason, or how bad you think your UFO is, think again. See if there is a new purpose for it. Worst case scenario . . . the dog won't care if your blocks aren't lined up perfectly : )
Happy sewing!
